[About PURPLEHEART] Purpleheart is a hardwood native to Central and South America and, as its name suggests, a rare wood known for its vivid purple color. It is very hard and heavy, with excellent durability and water resistance, retaining high strength even after processing. Freshly cut it shows a bright purple, but over time and with UV exposure it gradually shifts from reddish purple to a deep brownish purple. This aging is one of purpleheart's great charms. Its surface has a natural luster and, when polished, takes on an even more beautiful glossy finish. Thanks to this lustrous, distinctive look, it is used for decorative items, fine furniture, and musical instruments.
